How to get to Szczeliniec Wielki?
It is impossible to answer the question of how to get to Szczeliniec Wielki. It all depends on the place from which you go. Getting from Wrocław to the starting point will take about 2 h, while from Zieleniec less than 1 h. In the case of Kudowa, the journey will be approximately 20 minutes.
Where is the best place to Szczeliniec?
There are many roads leading to Szczeliniec Wielki. The trails intersect with each other, creating a not very complicated system of paths. The best option to quickly reach the very top is a yellow trail running from Karlov. There is a parking lot in the village, where you can leave your car for a small fee.
The second interesting route to Szczeliniec Wielki, also marked with yellow, leads from the Pasterka side. There is no need to pay for parking here, but usually there are not many free spaces available. It is also discouraged to leave the car overnight, as reported by the shelter itself.

Trail from Karłów to Hostel in Szczeliniec
Going to Szczeliniec Wielki, the route does not need to be checked every moment, because everything is very well marked. The trail from Karlov from the beginning runs along the road between shops with ice cream, waffles and souvenirs. After about 10 minutes, you reach the border of the Table Mountains National Park. Here you need to choose the gate marked with number one and buy an entrance ticket. Then you need to overcome the stairs and some easy approaches to get the top. How long does it take to Szczeliniec Wielki? Just walking from the Karlowo parking lot to the “Swiss” hostel in good condition takes about 40-45 minutes. However, it is not worth stopping there and going a little further, towards the Rock Labyrinth and the most beautiful fragments of Szczeliniec, i.e. the so-called Hell and Heaven.

Table Mountains and Szczeliniec Wielki are famous not only for their picturesque views, but also shelters with an interesting history. One of them is the “Swiss”, whose origins date back to 1845. The building, maintained in the Tyrolean style, owes its name to this architectural trend.

Once you look at Szczeliniec Wielki and the shelter, instead of going down immediately, you can go to explore the Rock Labyrinth. A fee of PLN 10 per adult and PLN 5 per child applies for entry. Impressive, very deep crevices hollowed out in the rocks by nature itself constitute the quintessential Table Mountains.
